Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (64-71)

LAS VEGAS 11, SALT LAKE 7 (Box)

Double-A - Binghamton Mets (61-69)

BOWIE 3, BINGHAMTON 1 (Box)

Binghamton took a page right out of the book of their parent club, going 0-12 with runners in scoring position on the night, resulting in a 3-1 loss to the Baysox. Of those stranded runners, seven were left in scoring position. With things tied late, Bowie earned their first win of the season against the B-Mets on a two-run flare into left in the eighth.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (68-59 / 33-27)

GAME ONE

ST. LUCIE 7, PALM BEACH 5 (Box)

St. Lucie won their first game of their doubleheader with Palm Beach, this game resumed from August 21st. Much of the game was back-and-forth, but St. Lucie took a permanent lead in the ninth. Former major leaguer Daniel Bard loaded up the bases with no outs, walking two batters and hitting one. He was removed in favor of Landon Beck, who promptly allowed two runs to score and St. Lucie to win the game.

GAME TWO

PALM BEACH 1, ST. LUCIE 0 / 7 (Box)

There’s a little statistical quirk for you: P.J. Conlon technically started both halves of yesterday’s double-header. His start in game one took place about a week ago, but that’s just a technicality, as the game was resumed today. The lone run of the game scored in the top of the sixth, when Casey Grayson was walked by Kelly Secrest and then driven in by Danny Diekroeger.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (61-70 / 25-36)

KANNAPOLIS 6, COLUMBIA 3 (Box)

The Intimidators and Fireflies went back-and-forth early on, but starter Nabil Crismatt ran out of steam late, giving up two unanswered runs to give Kannapolis the lead. Crismatt was fairly hittable all evening, but the Intimidators were having trouble against him nonetheless, striking out ten times. Seth Davis gave up a late inning run of his own for good measure, but already behind the eight-ball, it wouldn’t matter.

Short-A – Brooklyn Cyclones (33-33)

BROOKLYN 1, WILLIAMSPORT 0 (Box)

Harol Gonzalez’ march into the Brooklyn Cyclones record book continued last night. The Dominican right-hander added six more innings and four more strikeouts to his season total, bringing his season ERA to 1.57 and his 2016 strikeout total to 81. With a handful of starts left in the season, Gonzalez tying the current franchise record- Brad Holt struck out 96 batters in 2008- or setting a new one is a very real possibility. Having thrown 100 pitches over six-plus scoreless innings, Alejandro Castro and Joseph Zanghi were called to finish the Crosscutters off. The pair of relievers did exactly that, tossing scoreless innings of their own. Williamsport’s pitchers didn’t perform all that poorly themselves, but the one run they allowed in the sixth, an Ali Sanchez RBI single, was all that was needed to sink the Crosscutters.

Rookie – Kingsport Mets (22-40)

PRINCETON 5, KINGSPORT 1 (Box)

Adonis Uceta gave up five runs early, and Kingsport just wasn’t able to catch up. The offense was unable to figure out starter Hector Lopez, or his replacement, Sandy Brito. Jeremy Wolf managed to drive in Reed Gamache, who reached second on a double, but that would be the only run that Kingsport could to manage.

Rookie – GCL Mets (23-27)
