The Fireflies scored six runs in the sixth to overcome a five run deficit in an 8-6 win over Kannapolis. Starter Gaby Almonte was beat up for five runs in five innings and Luis De Los Santos blew a lead in the sixth, but Craig Missigman and Jimmy Duff ended the game with three scoreless innings of relief. Patrick Mazeika led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, notching two doubles, three RBI, and two walks.

Hengelbert Rojas and Arnaldo Berrios each drove in a run for Brooklyn in the eighth on an otherwise quiet offensive night. Merandy Gonzalez was brilliant, striking out eight in 6.1 innings. Desmond Lindsay recorded two hits, one a double.
