Ricky Knapp was mediocre for seven innings and Paul Paez let the game get away as Binghamton lost 6-2 to Bowie. Phillip Evans continued his hot hitting with a single and a double, while Amed Rosario went 3-for-4 with a triple and the only two RBI for the B-Mets on the night. Dominic Smith went hitless in four at bats.

In a continuation of yesterday’s suspended game, David Thompson launched a walk off three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to top Palm Beach 3-0. It was also Thompson’s 23rd birthday. Corey Taylor got the win.

Things didn’t go so well in the second game, as Palm Beach beat up on St. Lucie 8-3. Thompson notched another two hits and Jhoan Urena went deep, but Casey Delgado imploded in the seventh and allowed five runs. Luis Guillorme also notched a pair of RBIs.

COLUMBIA 8, KANNAPOLIS 6 (BOX)

The Fireflies scored six runs in the sixth to overcome a five run deficit in an 8-6 win over Kannapolis. Starter Gaby Almonte was beat up for five runs in five innings and Luis De Los Santos blew a lead in the sixth, but Craig Missigman and Jimmy Duff ended the game with three scoreless innings of relief. Patrick Mazeika led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, notching two doubles, three RBI, and two walks.

SS-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (34-33)

BROOKLYN 2, WILLIAMSPORT 1 (BOX)

Despite being out-hit eight to six, the Cyclones pulled out a 2-1 win over Williamsport. Hengelbert Rojas and Arnaldo Berrios each drove in a run for Brooklyn in the eighth on an otherwise quiet offensive night. Merandy Gonzalez was brilliant, striking out eight in 6.1 innings. Desmond Lindsay recorded two hits, one a double.

Rookie: Kingsport Mets (23-40)

KINGSPORT 5, DANVILLE 4 (BOX)

In a game with a combine 26 hits, Kingsport topped Danville 5-4. Starter Sixto Torres muddled through five innings, giving up six hits and walk four but allowing only two runs (one earned). Ricardo Cespedes and Jose Medina led the offense, each recording two singles and a double.

Rookie - GCL Mets (24-27)

GCL METS 8, GCL NATIONALS 6 (BOX)

Led by Miguel Patino, the GCL Mets topped the GCL Nationals 8-6. In addition to their 12 hits, the GCL Mets were helped by three errors from the Nationals along with a pair of walks. Starter Marbin Montijo went six innings and allowed three runs, earning his first win of the season.
