On Monday, September 19, Fall Instructional League workouts begin. Operating out of the Mets’ training complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida, the league features players from the lowest levels of the organization, and is centered around easing younger players into the rigors of being a professional baseball player.
A typical instructional league day includes training and drills in the morning, an afternoon game either home or away, and more specialized training afterwards, personalized for every player. The league runs through October 8, and will feature numerous Mets prospects and farmhands to keep an eye on.
