Season Record: 29-37 (Appalachian League West Division, 4th place)
Since clinching the Appalachian League West back in 2015, the Kingsport Mets have not been very good. In 2016, they ended the season with a 27-41 record, and though they were slightly better this past season, their 29-37 record was the third-worst in the league. Expectations were not high coming into the season, and the Kingsport Mets left fans dreaming on the 2018 season not long after the 2017 season began.
That is not to say that there were no bright spots. Various players had impressive single-game performances throughout the course of the season, and numerous players took positive steps forward in their baseball development. While it was not always winning baseball, Kingsport was involved in back-and-forth hit fests, pitching duels, and everything in-between. The fans kept coming out to the ballpark and were treated to everything baseball has to offer: the lowest of lows, and the highest of highs.
