As the offseason begins, the Mets will look to acquire players from outside the organization to help the team improve in 2018. In that spirit, we’re focusing the next few Mind Bogglers on non-Mets players—and, specifically, on how they performed against the Amazins. To start, we’re asking you to name every player to whom the Mets surrendered at least 200 career hits.
Every player with at least 200 career hits against the Mets
A few hints to keep in mind: First, concentrate on teams that the Mets faced most frequently both before and after the divisional realignment in 1994. Second, remember that, in order to stick around long enough to get 200 hits against any one team, the player needs to have been pretty good.
Most of the players on this list are Hall of Famers, future Hall of Famers, or would-be Hall of Famers were it not for various controversies. A good place to start might be to name every Hall of Famer that the Mets saw a lot of over the years.
You’ll have six minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
