Can you name Mets players born in New York?

Stony Brook native Steven Matz grew up rooting for the Mets. Now, at the age of the 25, the lefty has established himself as an important part of the Mets’ rotation after helping them reach the World Series in 2015 and contributing an impressive 22 starts last season. For this week’s Mind Boggler, we’re asking you to name Mets players who, like Matz, were born right here in New York.

There are a few lesser-known players on this list. However, to avoid listing players who are too obscure, we’re including only those who played the equivalent of at least one full season in Flushing. For position players, we define that as 100 games. For pitchers, we put the number at 25. Hat tip to Baseball-Reference, which publishes a comprehensive database of players’ birthplaces.
