Fangraphs released its annual list of the top 20 Mets prospects, and to the surprise of no one, Amed Rosario was ranked the Mets’ best prospect. Robert Gsellman, also ranked the Mets’ second-best prospect by Amazin’ Avenue, was ranked as the team’s best pitching prospect.

Here’s the top 10:

  1. Amed Rosario
  2. Robert Gsellman
  3. Dominic Smith
  4. Justin Dunn
  5. Andres Gimenez
  6. Desmond Lindsay
  7. Thomas Szapucki
  8. Tomas Nido
  9. Brandon Nimmo
  10. Gregory Guerrero

Rounding out the Fangraphs list at number 20 is Paul Sewald. Sewald, who did not find himself on Amazin’ Avenue’s Top 25 Mets Prospects List for 2017, posted a 3.29 ERA in 65.2 innings with the Las Vegas 51s in 2016. A Las Vegas native himself, the 26-year-old successfully saved 19 games in 23 opportunities. Sewald possesses a fringy fastball, sitting 88-90 MPH, but pairs it with a slider that flashes above-average at times and a delivery that adds some extra deception to his pitches.
