For this week’s Mind Boggler, we’re asking you to name every hitting coach in Mets history. This is the fourth Mind Boggler featuring members of the team’s front office and coaching staff, the first three of which you can find at these links: general managers, managers, pitching coaches.
The Mets hired their current hitting coach, Kevin Long, before the 2014 season. Long had previously served in the same role with the Yankees, with whom he developed a strong reputation during an eight-year stint.
Since Long took over as the Mets’ hitting coach, the team has ranked near the middle of the pack offensively, ranking 10th in the National League in runs scored and sixth in wRC+. With one of the deeper teams they have had in quite some time, the Mets hope to become a serious offensive force in 2017.
You’ll have four minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
