Mets cancel exhibition game against Army

Rain is to blame for the cancellation of the game.

The New York Mets announced earlier today that their exhibition game against Army West Point has been cancelled due to weather concerns. The game was scheduled to be played on Friday, March 31, at Citi Field, but will instead be turned into an afternoon workout between both clubs.

Army West Point was first expected to host the Mets in what would have been their first visit to West Point since 1984, but a snowstorm earlier this month forced a change of venue to Citi Field. Now, with rain expected for most of the day on Friday, it seems Mother Nature would not allow this game to be played, regardless of the location.

According to the Mets, fans who had bought tickets online, or by phone, will receive a refund on their credit card. Any cash purchases made at the Citi Field box office will be refunded upon returning the purchased ticket in person.
