The 51s found themselves back in the win column, toppling the Fresno Grizzlies 4-2. Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith both continued their early season successes, collecting two hits apiece, while Smith drove in one run. Matt Reynolds went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and a walk. During the top of the ninth, former Met Juan Centeno reached base on a Matt Reynolds fielding error. Paul Sewald loaded the bases with a walk and a single before retiring Teoscar Hernandez to secure the save.

The Rumble Ponies dropped the second game of their opening home-stand 5-2. Corey Taylor allowed three runs in the first inning, including a home run to Jason Krizan. That deficit proved insurmountable for Binghamton, whose only runs cam on a Kevin Kaczmarski ground out and a David Thompson single. Thompson went 1-for-4, striking out twice. Short stop Luis Guillorme continues to hit well, going 1-for-3 and improving his batting average to .414.

While not yet overpowering, Justin Dunn turned in a strong five-and-one-third innings, striking out two and allowing eight hits three runs. Designated hitter Wuilmer Becerra went 2-for-4, while first baseman Patrick Mazeika went 3-for-5 and drove in two runs. Justin Brantley relieved Dunn and held the Firefrogs scoreless for another two and two thirds innings.
