Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (6-5)

LAS VEGAS 6, SACRAMENTO 4 (BOX)

T.J. Rivera had two hits, including his first home run of the season, in yesterday’s 6-4 win over the River Cats. Adam Wilk allowed three runs in 5.1 innings in earning his second win of the season, while Sacramento starter Ricky Romero was tagged with all six runs in the loss.

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (4-5)

NO GAME (SCHEDULED DAY OFF)

The Rumble Ponies resume play tonight against the Portland Sea Dogs with first pitch at 6:35 at NYSEG Stadium.

Advanced Single-A - St. Lucie Mets (5-6)

FLORIDA 10, ST. LUCIE 1 (BOX)

Our Florida State League heroes’ pitching was less than stellar yesterday, allowing 15 hits and 7 walks in a 10-1 drubbing at the hands of the Florida Fire Frogs. Mets starter Joe Shaw allowed six of the runs in three innings, staking St. Lucie to an insurmountable 6-1 deficit. While St. Lucie’s offense was stuck in neutral, Florida went 10-for-20 with runners in scoring position and still managed to leave 14 runners on base. As a silver lining, Craig Missigman was outstanding in his three innings of relief, striking out seven.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (7-4)

AUGUSTA 7, COLUMBIA 6 (BOX)

The first 26 outs went very well for the Fireflies, as they held a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth against the GreenJackets. However, the final winning out was never to be as Augusta rallied for five runs against Colafly reliever Joseph Zanghi to hand Columbia a stunning 7-6 defeat. To compound the bad news, starter Colin Holderman left the game in the third inning with an undisclosed injury after hitting the first two batters of the frame. Despite the loss, Luis Carpio added two more hits and is now 14-for-37 (.378) on the season.
