Monday Morning Mets Mind Boggler: Pitchers with most HBP in a season

Can you name every Mets pitcher to hit at least ten batters in a season?

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

Last week, we asked you to name every Met to get hit by at least ten pitches in a single season. For this week’s Mind Boggler, we’re doing the opposite and asking you to name every Mets pitcher to hit at least ten batters.

Mets pitchers to hit at least ten batters in a season

No Mets pitcher has reached the double-digit HBP mark since 2014. Last year, Steven Matz led the team with five hit batters, while Jon Niese’s nine HBP was a team high the year before. So far in this young season, Robert Gsellman and Hansel Robles lead Mets pitchers with two hit batters apiece.

It’s no surprise that a Mets staff that walked the second fewest number of batters in 2016 also hit the third fewest. Seeing as the current Mets’ current rotation also boasts strong command of the zone, we shouldn’t be seeing a whole lot of beanball in 2017.

You’ll have three minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
