Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (16-24)

IOWA 5, LAS VEGAS 4 (Box)

It was an unhappy return from the disabled list for Wilfredo Boscan, as he surrendered five runs to the Iowa Cubs over 2.1 innings. The Las Vegas bullpen kept Iowa scoreless over the final 6.2 innings, but the 51s could shave the deficit to 5-4, but not get over the hump. Phillip Evans homered in the fourth to make the score 5-2, and Amed Rosario (2-5, raising his average to .365) singled in the seventh to make it 5-3 with the bases loaded, but Dominic Smith would fly out and Josh Rodriguez strike out to quell the threat. The duo had a rough night, failing to come through again in a similar spot in the ninth after Gavin Cecchini and Brandon Nimmo doubled to cut the deficit to one and Amed Rosario moved Nimmo to third with your quintessential productive out.

ROSTER ALERT: Las Vegas 51s activated Wilfredo Boscan from the 7-day disabled list

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (19-14)

ALTOONA 8, BINGHAMTON 6 (Box)

L.J. Mazzilli’s home run in his return to Binghamton was not enough to help the Rumble Ponies get by Altoona. The teams exchanged three spots - first Binghamton in the second inning matched by Altoona in the fourth, then the Curve went ahead 6-3 in the top of the seventh only to see the Ponies answer back in the bottom of the inning behind Mazzilli’s blast and a Kevin Taylor single plating Luis Guillorme. Binghamton put the first two on in the bottom of the eighth but were unable to capitalize, and the top of the ninth saw Tim Peterson’s 12.2 inning scoreless streak disappear to a two-run Jordan Ludlow home run, closely followed by Kevin Taylor, who was ejected in the bottom of the ninth, followed again by any hope of a Binghamton victory.

ROSTER ALERT: L.J. Mazzilli assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from Las Vegas 51s.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (18-22)

ST. LUCIE 3, LAKELAND 2 / 10 (Box)

It took 10 innings, but the St. Lucie Mets managed to be the only team in the system to record a victory Wednesday with their 3-2 triumph over the Lakeland Flying Tigers. Chris Flexen made his season debut after a spring training knee injury and pitched four solid innings, surrendering one run on a delayed steal of home in the bottom of the third (perhaps something the organization could work on in the offseason). Justin Dunn piggybacked to throw five solid innings and closed with a flourish, recording his final four outs via the strikeout. With two outs in the top of the 10th, Emmanuel Zabala walked and John Mora doubled him home with the go-ahead run. Johnny Magliozzi closed it out for his third save.

ROSTER ALERT: St. Lucie Mets activated Chris Flexen from the 7-day disabled list
