The Mets got a much needed 8-1 victory against the Pirates. Neil Walker did the most damage against him former team with two long home runs and four RBIs. Collectively the offense was on point with some struggling Mets getting in on the action. Curtis Granderson put the Mets on the board early, Jay Bruce had a double and a RBI, and Lucas Duda looks like he might be heading toward one of his hot streaks.
On the mound Jacob deGrom was everything the Mets could have hoped for and then some. He pitched into the ninth inning and struck out ten Pirate batters. His only blemish was a solo home run to Gregory Polanco.
Full recap to follow.
