The Mets won their third-straight game tonight at Citi Field, this time beating the Brewers 5-4 in twelve innings. Although Tyler Pill allowed plenty of baserunners, he only allowed one run in his first major league start, and the Mets led deep into the game.
But an Asdrubal Cabrera error on a routine pop-up with the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh allowed the Brewers to score two runs to tie the game. And once it went to extras, both bullpens were great—with Josh Smoker pitching three scoreless innings for the Mets—before the Mets strung together some hits and a walk in the bottom of the twelfth to set up a game-winning single from Jay Bruce.
Full recap to follow.
