Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (21-32)

NO GAME [SCHEDULE]

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (29-18)

BINGHAMTON 5, TRENTON 3 (Box)

Binghamton pitched their new reality show The Three Cor(e)ys to positive reviews, riding it to a 5-3 victory last night. Starter Corey Oswalt looked solid through six scoreless innings, but quickly faded in the seventh. Leading 2-0 entering the frame, Oswalt allowed the first three batters to reach before exiting—all would come around to score as Trenton took a 3-2 lead. Corey Taylor and Cory Burns limited the damage with three scoreless frames out of the pen, as Binghamton rallied with two in the eighth and one in the ninth, thanks in large parts to Trenton errors in each inning. The victory snapped the Ponies’ losing streak at three, and put them two games behind Trenton in the Eastern League Eastern (tied in the loss column).

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Chris Flexen assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from St. Lucie Mets.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (27-26)

ST. LUCIE 6, DAYTONA 5/ 13 Innings (Box)

It took 13 innings, but the St. Lucie Mets continued their recent winning ways, as they won their eighth game in their last 10 contests with Wednesday night's 6-5 victory. Nabil Crismatt was in line for the victory after hurling seven strong innings, leaving with a 3-2 lead, but the Tortugas struck for three in the top of the eighth off of a wild Johnny Magliozzi, who walked four and surrendered one hit while recording only two outs. A Daytona error helped the Mets respond with two in the bottom of the eighth, as Jhoan Urena doubled to tie the game. The St. Lucie bullpen dominated from there, striking out 12 over the last 5.1 innings to keep the game knotted into the bottom of the 13th, when John Mora led off with a single, then alertly tagged up and advanced to second on a J. C. Rodriguez deep fly to center. After an intentional walk denied Urena a chance to recreate his earlier heroics, Patrick Mazeika walked it off with an RBI single.

ROSTER ALERT: St. Lucie Mets activated RHP Cameron Griffin from the 7-day disabled list.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (27-23)

COLUMBIA 4, AUGUSTA 3 (Box)

The Fireflies scored two in the bottom of the first to take a lead they would not relinquish, riding the strong pitching of Merandy Gonzales to a 4-3 victory, completing a sweep of the Augusta Greenjackets. Gonzales struck out 10 over six innings, and the Colafly bullpen allowed only one run over the final three frames to hold the lead. In news that will make at least some of us feel quite old, Augusta first baseman Jose Vizcaino, Jr. went 3-4.
