Final score: Dodgers 8, Mets 2—What’d you expect?

The Mets lost again.

MLB: New York Mets at Los Angeles Dodgers Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

For the third time in as many nights, the Mets lost to the Dodgers, this time by a 8-1 score. Tyler Pill gave up six runs in six innings, five of which were earned. He struck out six and walked three and came out of the game with a 5.00 ERA on the season. The most interesting part of Pill’s start was probably the home run trot—and words from Wilmer Flores and Travis d’Arnaud during and at the end of it—by Yasiel Puig after he launched a three-run home run in the fourth.

The only notable Mets events of the night were Curtis Granderson’s home run to lead off the game against Rich Hill and his RBI double—which just barely missed clearing the fence for his second home run—in the ninth. There really wasn’t much else to take away from this one.

Full recap to follow.
