Final Score: Dodgers 6, Mets 3-Leaving Los Angeles

Thank goodness this series is over

MLB: New York Mets at Los Angeles Dodgers Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

The Mets lost to the Dodgers for the fourth straight night, dropping the game 6-3 at Chavez Ravine. Steven Matz started for the Mets, and kept his team in the game while not looking great over six innings, striking out eight and walking five.

The Mets got on the board in their first at bat on a Curtis Granderson solo home run, and scored their other two runs on a Travis d’Arnaud home run and a Lucas Duda double. When Matz left the game, the score was tied 3-3, and it seemed like the Mets may have had a chance to win a game on the West Coast.

After entering in the seventh inning, Paul Sewald gave up a solo home run to Joc Pederson, which put the Dodgers over the top, and the Mets were never able to scratch out another run. Later on in that inning, a fifth and a sixth run was walked in, putting the game away in the saddest, most dull way possible.
