Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (28-45)

SALT LAKE 16, LAS VEGAS 2 (Box)

The Bees smacked out 21 hits—13 for extra bases—as the 51s did their best to emulate their parent club earlier this week in Los Angeles, getting strafed by Salt Lake, 16-2. Salt Lake scored three in the first inning, then were held scoreless in the second, which would be the last inning in which they failed to score. Hansel Robles continues to be completely lost, surrendering four hits and three runs in the eighth, raising his ERA since his demotion to 8.76.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets selected the contract of RHP Chasen Bradford from Las Vegas 51s.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets optioned Tyler Pill to Las Vegas 51s.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Mitch Atkins assigned to Las Vegas 51s.

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (37-29)

BOWIE 5, BINGHAMTON 4 (Box)

Two Champ Stuart home runs were not enough for the Ponies tonight, as the Baysox put up four in the seventh inning to take a lead they would not relinquish. Binghamton wasted a solid Corey Oswalt start, as the right-hander went six innings, allowing only one run. Corey Taylor gave up all four runs in the seventh, surrendering two home runs. Binghamton answered back in the bottom of the frame behind the second of the aforementioned Stuart home runs, cutting the deficit to one. The Ponies put the leadoff man on in the ninth, but could not push the tying run across.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Tim Peterson assigned to Binghamton Rumble Ponies from Las Vegas 51s.

ROSTER ALERT: Binghamton Rumble Ponies activated RHP Corey Oswalt from the 7-day disabled list.

ROSTER ALERT: Binghamton Rumble Ponies placed RHP Chris Flexen on the 7-day disabled list retroactive to June 20, 2017.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (33-36)

CHARLOTTE 13, ST. LUCIE 10 (Box)

It was a back-and-forth affair that ultimately went back as far as the Mets were concerned, as they dropped their second-half opener to the Stone Crabs, 13-10. St. Lucie trailed 6-1 after the top of the fourth, but battled back to take an 8-7 lead after six innings. Charlotte answered back with two in the top of the seventh, but a Peter Alonso two-run home run put St. Lucie back up 10-9. Charlotte put up four more off Joshua Torres in the eighth (with Justin Brantley allowing two inherited runners to score), and managed to keep the game scoreless the rest of the way to seal the victory.

ROSTER ALERT:RHP Jordan Humphreys assigned to St. Lucie Mets from Columbia Fireflies.

ROSTER ALERT:RHP Merandy Gonzalez assigned to St. Lucie Mets from Columbia Fireflies.

ROSTER ALERT: 2B Michael Paez assigned to St. Lucie Mets from Columbia Fireflies.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (40-29)

KANNAPOLIS 8, COLUMBIA 5 (Box)

Columbia kicked off their second half in similarly disappointing fashion, dropping an 8-5 decision to Kannapolis. It was an odd game for Columbia’s pitching staff, as they flashed dominant at times, striking out 17 Intimidators in the game. However, three Colafly errors helped lead to six unearned runs for Kannapolis. Luis Carpio booted one leading off the top of the fifth, leading to a five-run inning that made it 7-1. Columbia got within two in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a Jacob Zanon home run, but went quietly in the eighth and ninth.

ROSTER ALERT: RF Arnaldo Berrios assigned to Columbia Fireflies from St. Lucie Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: Columbia Fireflies activated CF Jacob Zanon from the 7-day disabled list.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Matt Pobereyko assigned to Columbia Fireflies.

Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (2-1)

BROOKLYN 5, VERMONT 3 (Box)

The Cyclones salvaged the night for the system, winning their second straight against the Lake Monsters. Brooklyn scored one in the third on a Franklin Correa single and added another in the fourth on an Ian Strom RBI single. Vermont got two men on in the bottom of the ninth, but Keaton Aldridge came on to get Javier Godard to ground into a force out to seal the victory.
