ALBUQUERQUE 8, LAS VEGAS 4 (Box)

Mitch Atkins allowed six runs in just three innings of work as the 51s lost their first post-All-Star Game break at Cashman Field last night.

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (47-38)

BINGHAMTON 6, READING 1 (Box)

Chris Flexen continues his dominance of the Eastern League, throwing eight one-hit innings as the Rumble Ponies downed Reading 6-1 yesterday. Kevin Kaczmarski had three hits and David Thompson slugged his eighth home run of the season to pace the offense.

ROSTER ALERT: Binghamton Rumble Ponies activated OF Kevin Taylor from the 7-day disabled list.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (7-13/40-48)

ST. LUCIE 5, DAYTONA 4 / 7 INNINGS (Box)

Peter Alonso’s fourth inning home run was all the offense the Mets would need in game one of their doubleheader last night as Joe Shaw threw a 7-inning complete game shutout against the Tortugas.

Game two also featured a one-run game as the Mets erased an early 4-0 deficit and Tim Tebow’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh gave the Mets a sweep of the doubleheader.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (8-11/48-39)

COLUMBIA 2, GREENSBORO 1 (Box)

Thomas McIlraith was outstanding in his seven innings of work, allowing one run on five hits. The Colaflies, trailing 1-0 heading into the bottom of the eighth, would tie the game as Vinny Siena scored on a passed ball and eventually win it in the bottom of the ninth as Dash Winningham’s walk-off single plated Ian Strom to take home the victory.

Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (6-17)

The Cyclones fell to an NY-Penn League worst 6-17 yesterday, dropping a 4-2 contest to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers last night.

Rookie - Kingsport Mets (8-12)

KINGSPORT 6, PULASKI 0 (Box)

Christian James struck out nine in his 5.1 innings of work and Jeremy Vasquez slugged his fourth home run of the season as the K-Mets needed only five hits to shutout the Pulaski Yankees 6-0 yesterday.

Rookie - GCL Mets (5-7)

GCL CARDINALS 9, GCL METS 8 (Box)

The Mets outhit the Cardinals 18-9 yesterday, but walked 10 batters en route to a 9-8 defeat in Palm Beach yesterday.
