Mets Daily Prospect Report, 7/31/17: Trade Deadline Eve

Catch up on all the Mets prospects in yesterday's minor league action!

MLB: Spring Training-New York Mets at Miami Marlins Scott Rovak-USA TODAY Sports

*All results from games played on Sunday, July 30, 2017

Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (40-68)

LAS VEGAS 12, COLORADO SPRINGS 6 (BOX)

A seven-run rally in the sixth inning propelled the 51s to a 12-6 win over Colorado Springs. Dominic Smith had a big day, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a double, and Gavin Cecchini and Phillip Evans also homered in the win. Amed Rosario was 1-for-4 with a double.

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (59-45)

NEW HAMPSHIRE 3, BINGHAMTON 2 / 11 (Box)

Tommy Milone—who I completely forgot existed—looked solid in his rehab start, throwing three shutout innings of two-hit ball. Marcos Molina piggybacked him in the fourth and pitched six strong innings, giving up two runs. Unfortunately, one of those runs was a game-tying Anthony Alford home run in the ninth. The game went into extra innings, and in the eleventh, Cuban sensation Lourdes Gurriel hit a sacrifice fly to give New Hampshire the lead and, eventually, the win.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets sent LHP Tommy Milone on a rehab assignment to Binghamton Rumble Ponies.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (15-21/48-56)

SUSPENDED (RAIN)

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Briam Campusano assigned to St. Lucie Mets from GCL Mets

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (15-20/55-48)

AUGUSTA 6, COLUMBIA 0 (Box)

Chase Ingram was solid in his six innings on the hill, allowing three runs to score. Taylor Henry let things to get out of hand, loading the bases in the eighth, and Cameron Griffin allowed them to clear when he gave up a double. The offense had no solution for any of Augusta’s four pitchers, and just like that: another shutout, albeit not the kind the Colaflies wanted.

Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (12-27)

ABERDEEN 7, BROOKLYN 6 (Box)

Another day, another Cyclones loss. At least this one was close, as Brooklyn had the lead for most of the game. Up 6-4, Tony Dibrell allowed two runs to score in the bottom of the seventh, tying the game up. With things tied 6-6, Cannon Chadwick walked a pair of batters and then allowed a single that let the lead runner walk off.

Rookie - Kingsport Mets (15-22)

Coming into the day, Christian James was having a very nice 2017 season. The 19-year-old right-hander, who was selected in the fourteenth round of the 2016 MLB Draft, was 1-1 with a 1.84 ERA in 29.1 innings, allowing 20 hits, walking eight, and striking out 29. The James train derailed yesterday afternoon, as he allowed seven runs—six earned—over five innings. He allowed eight hits and walked four, bumping up those individual stats by large percentages. Joshua Payne pitched in relief of James and didn’t fare all that great, either. Kingsport managed a token run in the eighth to avoid the shutout, a solo shot off the bat of Anthony Dirocie, his second in as many days.

Rookie - GCL Mets (9-19)
