Tonight, the Mets kick off a four-game series with their crosstown rival New York Yankees. For this week’s Mind Boggler, we’re asking you to name every position player to play at least 100 games for both teams.
Position players who played at least 100 games for both the Mets and the Yankees
Kelly Johnson was the last player not listed here to play for both the Mets and the Yankees. The infielder signed with the Yankees as a free agent prior to the 2014 season and played 77 games with them before being traded to the Red Sox at that year’s non-waiver trade deadline.
Johnson then came to the Mets in a midseason trade the following year, when he helped bolster the Mets’ bench en route to the team’s first World Series appearance in 15 years. After signing with the Braves as a free agent for the second consecutive offseason, Johnson returned to the Mets in a midseason trade last year, once again helping the team to a playoff berth.
You’ll have four minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
