Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (47-76)

LAS VEGAS 6, FRESNO 5 (Box)

The Grizzlies scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the third, but Las Vegas responded in a big way, plating five runs in the top of the fourth. Josh Rodriguez walked with the bases loaded, to force in the tying run and Xorge Carrillo followed by hitting his eighth home run of the season over the left field wall, a grand slam. Donovan Hand let Fresno chip away at the lead, and in the sixth, with Kyle Regnault on the mound, they were able to tie the game up. The 51s recaptured the lead when Gavin Cecchini knocked a triple into right and was driven home by a Matt Reynolds infield single, and were able to hold on for the victory.

ROSTER ALERT: RF Travis Snider assigned to Las Vegas 51s.

ROSTER ALERT: RHP Neil Wagner assigned to Las Vegas 51s.

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (70-49)

BINGHAMTON 5, ERIE 3 (Box)

Tigers prospect Steven Moya doubled in a run in the bottom of the first, but the Rumble Ponies took the lead in the fourth. Matt Oberste, Tomas Nido, and David Thompson hit back-to-back-to-back doubles, giving Binghamton a 3-1 lead. Thompson later added to Binghamton’s lead when he slugged a two-run homer in the seventh, and the two extra runs would prove extremely important, as the SeaWolves scored a run in the eighth and ninth.

ROSTER ALERT: Binghamton Rumble Ponies placed 2B Dale Burdick on the 7-day disabled list.

Advanced-A - St. Lucie Mets (22-30/55-65)

ST. LUCIE 5, CLEARWATER 4 (Box)

Jeff McNeil doubled in a pair of runs in the first and Jose Garcia hit a solo homer in the fifth to give St. Lucie a 3-0 lead, but Scarlyn Reyes gave up three runs in the sixth to tie things up at 3-3. Former Met Pedro Beato came in to pitch in the seventh and gave up a hit to J. C. Rodriguez and back-to-back doubles to John “the People’s Champ” Mora and Nick “the Grit” Sergakis, giving St. Lucie a 5-3 edge. Adonis Uceta gave up a solo homer to start the bottom of the inning, but finished up the inning and the eighth without allowing further damage, giving way to Gerson Bautista in the ninth who earned his first save.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (20-30/60-58)

COLUMBIA 5, AUGUSTA 2 (Box)

Darwin Ramos gave up a pair of runs in the bottom of the second but the Colaflies got those runs back and then some in the sixth, when they plated three runs. With two outs, Ian Strom doubled in Andres Gimenez and Luis Carpio, and was driven in in turn by Natanael Ramos. The duo of Strom and Ramos struck again in the eighth, when the left fielder laced a triple into right to drive in Carpio once again, and in turn was once again driven in by Ramos.

Short-A - Brooklyn Cyclones (15-37)

NYPL SOUTH ALL-STARS 5, NYPL NORTH ALL-STARS 2 (Box)

Rookie - Kingsport Mets (23-28)

CANCELLED (RAIN)

Rookie - GCL Mets (14-27)

GCL MARLINS 6, GCL METS 2 (Box)

The GCL Mets lost to the GCL Marlins, but that’s burying the main story. (A) Jeurys Familia, who was slated to make a rehab appearance, did not and (B) Jose Carreno got every prep pitcher that the Mets drafted in 2017 into the game. These are the guys to pay attention to, folks!
