The Mets broke their four game losing streak and found themselves back in the win column Tuesday night, beating the Texas Rangers 5-4.
Michael Conforto had yet another dominating night, going 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks. Conforto’s home run was his 23rd of the year and his sixth while in the lead off spot
Starter Chris Flexen had his best, and longest start of the year, turning in five and two thirds innings while striking out four batters. He allowed three earned runs, two of which on home runs from Joey Gallo and Adrian Beltre. Gallo also hit an RBI double to plate Carlos Gomez after Flexen had departed from the game. Flexen also recorded his firs major league hit - a double off Rangers starter A.J. Griffin.
Closer-for-now A.J. Ramos entered in the ninth inning, and despite allowing a solo home run to Robinson Chirinos, collected his first save as a Met to give New York the victory.
Full recap to follow.
