The Mets lost to the Cubs on Wednesday night in Chicago, and it wasn’t even close, as the Cubs scored seventeen runs to the Mets’ five. Matt Harvey made another very bad start—three-and-a-third innings, five earned runs, seven hits, two strikeouts, and four walks—before the bullpen went and made his outing look good.
The Mets scored first when Jose Reyes began the game by hitting a home run, and they managed to tie things up at two in the second. But the Cubs pretty much ran away with things from there. The only remaining highlight in the game was the two-run home run that Dominic Smith hit in the eighth inning.
Full recap to follow.
