In their first game of their final series of the season, the Mets were beaten by the Phillies by a 6-2 score. As was often the case over the course of the season, Matt Harvey struggled. He gave up four runs, all of them earned, with three strikeouts and three walks in four innings. He threw 76 pitches in total and finishes his year with a 6.70 ERA.
Hansel Robles gave up a pair of runs in two innings, as well, and the Mets mustered just two runs. The first of those came on a Jose Reyes home run in the first inning, and the second scored when Dominic Smith hit a solo home run of his own in the fifth.
