Meet the Mets

If the Mets were to trade Noah Syndergaard, or any of their starters, the goal would be to improve for both the long term and the short term (paywall alert).

If Syndergaard is indeed available, there are five teams that should make a push to land him.

The starting pitching is one of the Mets’ only strengths right now, and they should not make it weaker by trading away Syndergaard.

Overall, the major individual awards that were given out after the season seemed to go to those who deserved them the most.

Around the National League East

The Marlins had quite a few prospects playing in the AFL and some fared better than others this fall.

The Phillies had some pitching prospects that found success in the AFL.

The Nationals are a possible landing spot for Dallas Keuchel. The Cubs could still be a suitor for Bryce Harper.

Around Major League Baseball

There are a bunch of teams interested in signing Nathan Eovaldi.

The Orioles are interested in hiring a veteran manager to be their new skipper and there are plenty of options available to them.

There are of course some premium free agents on the market this season, but there will be elite talent on the market next season as well.

This Date in Mets History

The Mets were officially for sale on this date in 1979.
