Meet the Mets

The Mets are interested in a couple of catchers. The first is J.T. Realmuto but the price might be too steep for them to pay. The second is Yasmani Grandal who is a free agent this offseason.

The other area they are interested in strengthening is the bullpen, and one target could be Andrew Miller to fill that need.

According to Brodie Van Wagenen, as it stands now Jeff McNeil is next year’s starting second baseman.

The Mets could be interested in a reunion with Asdrubal Cabrera.

Agent Scott Boras gave some frosty answers during his press conference with the media and it appears his relationship with the Mets has not improved.

Despite Boras’s bluster, Van Wagenen claimed he has no issues with the agent.

Chili Davis could potentially be the Mets’ new hitting coach next season.

Tim Tebow is working his way back from a broken hamate bone and could see playing time in the majors next season.

Around the National League East

Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson underwent surgery on his wrist but should be ready for spring training. Freddie Freeman picked up more hardware for his glovework at first base. The Braves hired Mike Fast as a special assistant to the general manager.

The Marlins have reportedly received a “strong offer” for J.T. Realmuto from the Braves.

The Nationals reportedly offered Bryce Harper a ten-year deal worth $300 million at the end of the year, but he rejected the offer.

Around Major League Baseball

The Rays and Mariners have reportedly completed a deal that will send Mike Zunino to Tampa in return for Mallex Smith.

The Mets weren’t the only ones to receive criticism from Scott Boras during his press conference.

Yankees’ catcher Gary Sanchez has been dealing with shoulder pain since 2017 and he will finally get surgery to correct the issue.

The long awaited free agent class of 2019 is finally here but many of the anticipated stars have lost their shine.

The Blue Jays hired Dave Hudgens to be their bench coach.

Yesterday at Amazin’ Avenue

Robert Wolff reviewed Kevin Plawecki’s disappointing season.
