At this time last year, the World Baseball Classic had just completed its fourth tournament, in which Team USA defeated Team Puerto Rico in the championship game. For this week’s Mind Boggler, we’re asking you to name every Met to participate in the tournament over the course of its existence.
To qualify for this list, players need to have played for the Mets in the same year that they participated in the tournament. In other words, if a player is listed next to the year 2009, it means that he was on both a WBC roster and the Mets’ roster in 2009. Furthermore, to restrict the list to only players who spent some minimal degree of time in New York, we’re requiring a minimum of 30 innings pitched or 100 plate appearances for the Mets in the year in which they participated in the WBC.
You’ll have five minutes for this quiz. Good luck, and remember to post your time and score in the comments!
