The Mets dropped their series opener in Atlanta by a 12-4 score. Matt Harvey was very bad, as he gave up six runs on eight hits in six innings of work, with all of those runs scoring in the first and third innings.
There were a couple of times that the Mets flirted with the notion of a comeback, but there never anything really close to that—especially after Jerry Blevins gave up four runs in two-thirds of an inning and Gerson Bautista gave up two more in one-and-one-third.
If you’re looking for highlights from the game, Todd Frazier and Adrian Gonzalez each hit solo home runs in it.
