Tonight’s Mets game against the Philadelphia Phillies has officially been postponed due to snow at Citi Field. The game will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader on July 9.
Matt Harvey and Ben Lively will likely make their season debuts in tomorrow night’s game. Wednesday afternoon’s starter, originally scheduled to be Seth Lugo, will now be Noah Syndergaard for the matinee against Aaron Nola. Lugo will have his rotation spot skipped and will likely be available to pitch out of the bullpen. Jacob deGrom will now start on Thursday against the Nationals for their home opener.
The Mets weren’t the only ones snowed out in New York today, as the Yankees’ home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays scheduled for this afternoon was postponed, as well. Despite the inclement weather, Kevin Plawecki, AJ Ramos, Travis d’Arnaud, and Phillip Evans made the most of it by making a new friend in the snow.
