The Braves were all over Syndergaard early.

The Braves blitzed Noah Syndergaard right from the get-go and held on for the 3-2 win over the Mets. While the fans were still settling into their seats, the Mets were down by three runs before an out was even recorded.

Ozzie Albies and Ronald Acuna Jr. set the table for Freddie Freeman who brought them both home with a double. Nick Markakis followed with a single to drive in the third run of the inning. The hits would keep on coming for the Braves but somehow Syndergaard kept them off the board for the rest of the night. He went six innings, allowed ten hits, and struck out only three.

Yoenis Cespedes was in the lineup despite injuring his thumb on Sunday, and he seemed to be just fine. He blasted his seventh home run of the year in the sixth and then threw Kurt Suzuki out at the plate an inning later.

Cespedes was the only one to get to starter Mike Soroka who made his major league debut for Atlanta. He pitched six innings, allowed six hits, and struck out five. Once Soroka was out of the game, the Mets could not generate much offense against the bullpen. They did make it exciting in the ninth when some poor Atlanta defense led to a run, but Jose Reyes flew out to end the game.

Full recap to follow.
