New York Mets utility infielder Wilmer Flores was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list before last night’s game. To make room on the roster, Ty Kelly was sent back down to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Flores went to the disabled list following back soreness that was at one point referred to rather ominously as a “disc issue.” But after a few rehab games with Single-A St. Lucie—including a homer in his last rehab appearance last night—he’s back.
In his 46 games before going on the DL on May 28, Flores was slashing .248/.320/.398 with three home runs for a wRC+ of 101.
Kelly, who was called up on Tuesday, did not appear in any games during his brief stint on the 25-man roster.
Flores was not in the lineup for tonight’s matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks, though he did double-switch into the game and drove in the Mets’ third run of the game.
