Final Score: Orioles 1, Mets 0 — Another shut out? Shut up.

Run? What’s a run?

The Mets lost sixth straight game this afternoon, dropping a nail-biter to the Orioles 1-0 at Citi Field. Despite continued quality starting pitching, the Mets just cannot put together a decent offensive approach as of late.

Both Zack Wheeler and Dylan Bundy pitched well this afternoon, limiting their pitch counts and matching zeroes across their seven innings of work. Wheeler continues his surprisingly consistent run with one of his best outings of the year, limited the Orioles to three hits and one walk over seven strong innings of work, while striking out five.

Despite Wheeler’s dominance, the Mets’ offense continues to be non-existent. Bundy held the Mets to three hits - including one to Wheeler, trying in vain to help his own cause - while walking three and striking out five.

The Orioles would scrape out a run in the eighth on an infield single, a stolen base, a single and a sacrifice fly of of Jeurys Familia. That would be all it took for the Orioles to sweep this short series.

Full recap to follow.
