Mets Daily Prospect Report, 6/9/18: Prevost shines, Cespedes begins rehab assignment

Triple-A - Las Vegas 51s (26-36)

ROUND ROCK 12, LAS VEGAS 5 (Box)

The 51s were beaten by the Express on Friday night. After 7.1 innings of solid pitching from Drew Gagnon and Matt Purke, Eric Hanhold imploded and gave up 6 runs in 1.1 innings. At the plate, Las Vegas only generated six hits with no one having a standout game.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets sent LHP Buddy Baumann outright to Las Vegas 51s. New York Mets sent 3B Phillip Evans outright to Las Vegas 51s. New York Mets recalled RHP Jacob Rhame from Las Vegas 51s.

Double-A - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (33-27)

TRENTON 10, BINGHAMTON 2 (Box)

The Rumble Ponies fell to the Trenton Thunder on Friday night as they gave up 10 runs on 17 hits. Marcos Molina pitched six innings allowing just three runs before Adonis Uceta and Austin McGeorge gave up seven runs combined in just two innings. At the plate, Yoenis Cespedes went 0-2 in his first rehab game with Binghamton while Peter Alonso went 1-4 and drove in the Rumble Ponies only two runs of the night.

Advanced-A - Port St. Lucie Mets (24-31)

ST LUCIE 2, LAKELAND 0 (Box)

The St. Lucie Mets beat the Flying Tigers on Friday night behind a dominant pitching performance from Josh Prevost. Prevost threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts in just 97 pitches. Andres Gimenez and Michael Paez each had a run batted in as that was all the Mets would need on the night.

Low-A - Columbia Fireflies (29-29)

COLUMBIA 4, AUGUSTA 1 (Box)

The Firflies got a win on Friday night over the GreenJackets to bring them .500 on the season. Anthony Kay got the start for Columbia and went 6.2 innings while giving up one run and striking out seven. Catcher Ali Sanchez went 2-3 with a double, home run, and three runs batted in. Carlos Hernandez and Stephen Villines shut down Augusta in relief of Kay to secure the win for the Fireflies.
