Final score: Mets 3, Phillies 0—Nimmo’s pinch-hit walk-off wins it after deGrom dominates

Brandon Nimmo hit a walk-off, three-run home run in the bottom of the tenth.

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

On a night that saw Jacob deGrom pitch eight scoreless innings while the Mets scored none over the same span, the team and its fans went home happy after Brandon Nimmo hit a pinch-hit, walk-off, three-run home run in the bottom of the tenth.

deGrom struck out seven, walked one, and gave up just five hits in eight scoreless innings of work. It took a scoreless inning each from Jeurys Familia and Robert Gsellman to get things to the bottom of the tenth with the game still scoreless, but it worked.

Before Nimmo’s home run, Amed Rosario had the best night at the plate, as he went 2-for-3 with a walk.
