PCL ALL STARS 12, INT’L LEAGUE ALL STARS 7 (Box)

Zach Borenstein was the lone representative for the Las Vegas 51s in this AAA all star affair, going 1-5 with an RBI Single in the PCL’s somewhat lopsided victory. The break ends tomorrow for Vegas, with the 51s playing against Albuquerque at home.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets optioned RHP Drew Gagnon to Las Vegas 51s.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets recalled RHP Jacob Rhame from Las Vegas 51s.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets selected the contract of CF Matthew den Dekker from Las Vegas 51s.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (43-44)

EAS WEST ALL STARS 4, EAS EAST ALL STARS 4 (Box)

The Rumble Ponies were much better represented in the Eastern League all-star game, with Levi Michael helping the East to their first run with a leadoff triple in the second inning. Tim Tebow gave the fans a little something they paid to see with a double in the same inning, going 1-4 on the night as the DH. Daniel Zamora allowed an inherited runner to score in the fifth to tie the game on a wild pitch. After the West went ahead in the eighth, David Roseboom retired his only batter leading off the ninth, and Patrick Mazieka sparked a tying rally by leading off the bottom of the frame with a single and coming around to score. The West recorded the victory in a tiebreaking hitting competition.

Advanced-A: St. Lucie Mets (27-40 / 7-11)

POSTPONED (RAIN)

ROSTER ALERT: St. Lucie Mets placed RF Ian Strom on the 7-day disabled list.

ROSTER ALERT: 1B Anderson Bohorquez assigned to St. Lucie Mets from GCL Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: RF Raphael Gladu assigned to St. Lucie Mets from Columbia Fireflies.

Low-A: Columbia Fireflies (43-43 / 9-10)

COLUMBIA 5, HAGERSTOWN 0 (Box)

It was the Dionis Paulino and Nicholas Debora show in Hagerstown Wednesday, as the right fielder popped two solo home runs—providing one more run by himself than Debora would need all night, as the the righty surrendered only three hits over seven masterful shutout innings. Quinn Brodey ripped a clutch two-run double into the right-center field gap to extend the lead to 4-0 in the third, and the Suns never really threatened thereafter.

ROSTER ALERT: LF Zach Rheams assigned to Columbia Fireflies from Kingsport Mets.

SS-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (12-13)

ABERDEEN 6, BROOKLYN 1 (Box)

Aberdeen jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first against a struggling Briam Campusano, and never really looked back. Meanwhile, after 2018 third round draft pick Carlos Cortes reached on a single and stole second in the top of the first, the Cyclones wouldn’t reach base again until Brian Sharp homered to deep right to supply Brooklyn’s only run of the game.

Rookie: Kingsport Mets (12-8)

KINGSPORT 4, GREENEVILLE 1 (Box)

Kingsport jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first after Guillermo Granadillo and Luis Santana perfectly executed a double steal with Granadillo coming home on the throw down to second. Mark Vientos then ripped a single to left to bring Santana around. Joey Butto gave one back in the top of the second on a home run to Hunter Oliver, but he and Dedniel Nunez were solid the rest of the way, scattering nine hits while keeping the Reds off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
