Mets, Cubs game suspended

Action will resume at 1:00 tomorrow in Chicago.

MLB: New York Mets at Chicago Cubs Patrick Gorski-USA TODAY Sports

After rain delayed the start of the 10th inning of Tuesday’s game between the Mets and Cubs for almost an hour, the game was officially suspended until Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM EDT. The game will proceed as it was, a 1-1 tie, and will be followed by the third game of the series, which will start 45 minutes after the last out of the suspended game is recorded.

Before the rain washed things away, Jacob deGrom posted another brilliant start in his remarkable 2018 campaign. He was plagued by a couple of leadoff hits late in the game, but he still managed to twirl eight innings of one-run ball and strike out ten. Just to add a cherry on top, he drove in the Mets’ only run of the game—thus far—on an infield single in the sixth inning.
