Final score: Phillies 4, Mets 0—No spoilers

Noah Syndergaard wasn’t sharp, and neither was the Mets’ offense.

The Mets were listless against the Phillies in their last game against them for the 2018 season, and they lost 4-0 in the end. Noah Syndergaard needed 89 pitches to throw just four innings, and he gave up three runs on four hits—two of which were home runs.

Zach Eflin made the Mets’ lineup look pretty tame by comparison. He went six innings, struck out nine, walked three, and didn’t allow any runs, obviously. The Phillies proceeded to use five more relievers to keep the Mets from scoring the rest of the way, but it worked.

The Mets’ bullpen was good, too, with only Jerry Blevins giving up a run in one inning of work before Paul Sewald and Tim Peterson each had scoreless outings.

Full recap to follow.
