The Mets closed out their 2018 season with a victory over the Miami Marlins, 1-0 at Citi Field. The story, as has been the case for most of the Mets’ season, was the starting pitching.
Noah Syndergaard closed out his season with a complete game shutout, giving up just five hits and no walks over the course of the day, while striking out six.
The Mets mustered little offense, but at least did so earlier than in last night’s 1-0 victory. In the fourth inning, Jeff McNeil singled to lead off the inning, and came around to score on a Todd Frazier double.
Full recap to follow.
