The first televised New York Mets game of 2019 is right around the corner, which is good news if you’ve missed watching Mets games during the offseason. The team announced earlier today that they will broadcast 14 spring training home games this year, including the opener on Saturday, February 23 against the Atlanta Braves.
In total, 11 games will air on SNY, with three games being picked up by WPIX. Along with the opener, SNY will air three games against the rival Washington Nationals towards the latter part of the schedule. The Mets will also face off with the World Series champion Boston Red Sox in a split squad game on Monday, March 4, which can also be seen on SNY. All games will air at 1:10 p.m. ET, except for the team’s home finale on March 24, which airs at 12:10 p.m. ET.
Mets’ pitchers and catchers officially report on February 12, with their first workout taking place on February 14th. Position players will report to Port St. Lucie by February 16, with the first full squad workout set for February 18. The club will open their spring schedule on February 23 before ending on March 25 and heading to Washington D.C. for the season opener against the Nationals.
