MLB: Spring Training-Boston Red Sox at New York Mets Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Mets welcome the Washington Nationals to First Data Field for today’s 1:10pm game. Steven Matz will look to build on the four shutout innings he tossed in his last start against the St. Louis Cardinals. In addition to Matz, Edwin Diaz, Robert Gsellman, Tyler Bashlor, and Eric Hanhold are among the pitchers who will work in today’s game.

Michael Conforto, who is mired in a 3-for-20 slump dating back to March 7, will get the day off as Rajai Davis gets the start in right field. Juan Lagares, who is 2-for-16 in that same span, will also sit today’s game out. McNeil will return to third base coming off his 3-for-4 performance yesterday and is sporting a .892 OPS this spring.
