Meet the Mets

The Mets have decisions to make regarding Devin Mesoraco, Luis Avilan, Adeiny Hechavarria, and Rajai Davis. With the upward mobility clauses in their contracts, they can go to another team that is interested and can give them a major league spot.

Zack Wheeler had a strong showing in a minor league game as he looks forward to being on the major league roster this season.

Manager Mickey Callaway is seriously considering bringing both Dominic Smith and Pete Alonso north for the start of the season.

Alonso once suffered a broken nose in college and refused to miss any games due to the injury.

With only a week to go before Opening Day, the Mets have other roster decisions to make besides the first base spot.

Alonso and Andres Gimenez and clearly the Mets’ top prospects, but they do have some intriguing players at the lower levels in their system.

Prospect Anthony Kay hopes to follow in Steven Matz’s footsteps as he tries to make his way to the majors.

Ichiro Suzuki is expected to officially announce his retirement after the conclusion of today’s game.
