Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (6-4)

PAWTUCKET 7, SYRACUSE 2 (BOX)

Michael Chavis homered in the bottom of the first to put the Red Sox on the board first, and Pawtucket did not look back, winning 7-2. Travis Taijeron hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth to tie things up at 1-1, but Chris Flexen lost control in the bottom of the inning and gave up four runs to give the Red Sox a commanding lead. Taijeron went yard for a second time in the seventh, but a combination of the Mets’ inability to score other runs and Corey Taylor’s two-run ninth doomed the team to their fourth loss of the season.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (3-2)

Advanced-A: St. Lucie Mets (6-4)

ST. LUCIE 11, FLORIDA 1 (BOX)

Quinn Brodey scored a run on a sac fly in the bottom of the first and St. Lucie did not look back from there. The Mets did not let up in what turned into a rout, plating four in the second, one in the fourth, one in the sixth, one in the seventh, and three in the eighth. Tommy Wilson was solid, allowing just a single unearned run over his five-plus innings on the mound, and the bullpen held fast, with Carlos Hernandez and Ryley Gilliam combining to allow just a single base runner over the final three frames of the game.

Low-A: Columbia Fireflies (3-6)

LEXINGTON 3, COLUMBIA 1 (BOX)

Columbia and the Legends both had limited ducks on the pond all evening- Columbia knocked five hits and drew three walks, and had a hit by pitch, while Legends knocked five hits and drew five walks- but Lexington made their opportunities count. In the bottom of the fourth, the Legends got on the board thanks to a Chase Vallot RBI double, and one inning later, they plated two more. Chandler Avant was able to knock in a run for the Colaflies, but the team was unable to capitalize on any of their other scoring opportunities, as Juan Uriarte, Jose Medina, and Bradley Marquez- yes, that Bradley Marquez- all squandered RISP situations.
