Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (6-5)

PAWTUCKET 5, SYRACUSE 4 (BOX)

With the score tied 2-2 apiece, Ty Bashlor allowed a three-run sixth, putting the Syracuse Mets well behind the 8-ball. As had been the case all night, the Mets fought back, plating a pair of runs in the top of the seventh, but in the end the Pawtucket bullpen shut the door.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets optioned RHP Corey Oswalt to Syracuse Mets.

ROSTER ALERT: New York Mets recalled Paul Sewald from Syracuse Mets.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (3-2)

SUSPENDED (RAIN)

Advanced-A: St. Lucie Mets (7-4)

ST. LUCIE 4, FLORIDA 2 (BOX)

The St. Lucie Mets took the rubber game against the Florida Fire Frogs yesterday evening, with Luc Rennie cruising to pitch St. Lucie’s first quality start of the season and his second victory of the year. The Mets put up a three-spot in the fourth and let Rennie and the bullpen do the rest.

Low-A: Columbia Fireflies (4-6)

COLUMBIA 12, LEXINGTON 5 (BOX)

It’s not that Columbia’s big boppers hadn’t been showing up, but the youngsters had yet to really assert themselves. Assert themselves they did yesterday evening, as the team hammered out twelve runs on seventeen hits. The young core of the team- Ronny Mauricio, Mark Vientos, Juan Uriarte- combined to go 8-16 with two doubles, while everyone else contributed. Starter Dedniel Nunez was solid, as was the bullpen asides for a hiccup by Darwin Ramos.
