Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (10-7)

SYRACUSE 4, PAWTUCKET 1 (BOX)

Looking for the sweep, the first in franchise history, Syracuse took an early lead. Loading up the bases with no outs in the first, the Mets scored a pair of runs thanks to back-to-back sac flies by Carlos Gomez and Travis Taijeron. Tomas Nido added another run on a sac fly in the fourth. The Red Sox finally got on the board in the fifth, scoring a run off of the returning Casey Coleman, but the offense got that run right back in the bottom of the inning. Pawtucket threatened in the top of the eighth, but the Mets’ bullpen held fast.

ROSTER ALERT: Syracuse Mets activated RHP Casey Coleman from the 7-day injured list.
