A day after being removed from Sunday’s game due to a hit-by-pitch, Robinson Cano has received good news from his MRI.

Cano’s hand, hit for the second time in just over a week, is reportedly just swollen and is not broken. He was seen in the clubhouse Monday afternoon with no wrap or sling.

Jeff McNeil is playing second base for Monday night’s game with Cano expected to sit for a couple of games and return to the lineup later this week. Mickey Callaway has not yet indicated whether he’s expected to be available to pinch hit tonight.

With Cano out of the lineup, Brandon Nimmo is batting third tonight, while Juan Lagares is playing center field and batting eighth.

Cabo has hit .270/.324/.430 with three home runs and a 105 wRC+ in 108 plate appearances so far this year, though he’s been hitting much better recently after getting off to a cold start.
