Final score: Mets 4, Marlins 1—Another easy win

Jacob deGrom was very good, and the Mets scored more than enough runs to win the game.

The Mets took care of the Marlins with ease once again tonight, as they won 4-1 after getting seven strong innings from Jacob deGrom and no-doubt home runs from Pete Alonso and Michael Conforto.

The Marlins scored first with their lone run of the game in the third, but Conforto blooped a single to tie things up in the bottom of the fourth. The aforementioned home runs were of the back-to-back variety and came in the bottom of the sixth to give the Mets the lead, and later in that inning, deGrom singled home the Mets’ fourth run of the night.

On the mound, deGrom went seven innings, struck out eight, walked one, gave up five hits, and allowed just one run. Seth Lugo was excellent in a scoreless eighth inning, and Edwin Diaz threw a scoreless ninth that was relatively stress-free.

Full recap to follow.
