Meet the Mets

Both Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer were not at the top of their games, but both were good enough to keep it a low scoring game through seven innings. Only one run had scored on either side when the Mets finally broke it open against the Nationals bullpen in the eighth inning. Juan Lagares and Rajai Davis combined for six RBIs in that inning which helped seal the victory over Washington.
