As sellers we can still enjoy the season

Okay, it's over. Not mathematically over over but over to the point that it would take a small miracle (Cespedesdian) for the Mets to turn it around and make the playoffs. We Mets fans feel bad but I suggest there is a way we could feel good about the rest of the season, and that's if the Mets trade the pending free agents, get fair value for them, and we watch the current young players improve. We hopefully enjoy watching JD Davis bloom playing every day at third base. We watch Dominick Smith continue to improve at the plate and the outfield. O'Neill and Alonso maintain their star trajectory. We possibly watch Ahmed Rosario give center field a try. Maybe we see Aaron Kay face his first major league hitters. Yes, the Mets will lose more than they win, as they do now, but at least we can watch for improvements that will lead to a winning future season. We've seen the impact of great young players on teams like the Yankees and the Braves. That can only come from a well-stocked minor league system, which Mets currently don't have unless you call Tebow, Davis, Tejada, Rivera, Guillorme, Herrera, Blanco and Espinosa promising future players.
